@BeatzTempo

They built the walls to keep people out. Nobody told them walls have two sides.

@cyber_rekk When them ready, you see all those boys futminna, covenant, lasu, ctf cracked bandits..them go employ them. This guys talk like we didn't watch how the exp paradox got worse with growth. They'll want senior talents, but non of them are ready to create the junior to mids pipeline

Mololuwa | Cybersecurity - (The God Complex)
The CEO of moniepont over the weekend gave a statement about the shortage of global talents and how his organization had over 500 vacancies open without finding suitable global talents to fill up those roles a claim that i very much disagree with and would like to call bs The claim that there is a desperate need for global talent while thousands of highly skilled professionals remain unemployed is a massive contradiction. We are seeing a market where dangerously cracked engineers/professionals, people with deep technical expertise and proven projects are sitting on the sidelines because the barrier to entry has been moved to an impossible height. When massive global tech firms are laying off thousands of employees periodically, the narrative isn't neccesarilty about a lack of talent, it’s more about a refusal to invest in people. Often, the call for global talent is simply corporate shorthand for wanting world class expertise while paying local, suppressed wages to save on the bottom line ( i know moniepoint pays decently well but i dont believe in seeking for faang standard experience and paying just decently well in our local currency,) The most frustrating part of this talent gap argument is the complete destruction of the entry-level pipeline. You cannot demand global talents in an environment where there is no infrastructure to build them. If companies refuse to hire juniors or provide internships, they are effectively killing the next generation of experts before they even start. We’ve reached a point where seeing an entry-level cybersecurity role feels like a myth, most of these vacancy postings seem more like data farming exercises or marketing stunts than actual job openings. Without a place for emerging talent to skill up and learn, the industry is essentially eating its own future. Furthermore, it is hypocritical to demand world-class output in a region where the basic infrastructure reliable power, affordable high-speed internet, and stable economic conditions is often missing or self funded by the individual. Tech talent in this environment has to work twice as hard just to stay connected, yet the number of accessible roles drops every single year. The math simply doesn't add up. If leaders were serious about talent, they would be building the ladders for people to climb, not standing at the top of a wall and complaining that nobody is up there with them. Ultimately, the talent shortage is a self-inflicted wound by the industry. We all know what is actually happening, companies want senior level performance at a comfortable low cost of their own choosing , all while removing the very roles that allow people to gain that seniority. My calling bullshit on this statement isn't merely about being cynical, it’s about acknowledging the reality that talent is everywhere, but genuine opportunity and a path for growth are becoming increasingly rare and yes i also agree that there is a talenty shortage but it is not as bad as MR Tosin is making it seem irregardless i still respect the man thanks for coming to my tedtalk

I told myself years ago that I won’t use all my life saving to write a certification only to be found bidding for an unpaid internship. I took the best decision for me.
