I don’t know a single person who is “pro war” like Matt is trying to paint everyone who supports the operation in Iran to be.
Most people like myself are anti Islamic regime, not pro war. Unfortunately, the only way to deal with the threat of radical Islam at this point is through force. Appeasement hasn’t worked, clearly, and isolationism won’t work either.
If we don’t stop them now, imagine what would happen if the democrats ever took power again? You think a nuclear Iran wouldn’t bend us over if they knew our president was afraid of being labeled islamaphobic? You wanna become the UK?
Trump did promise no new wars, but he also promised peace through strength, and that Iran would never have a nuclear weapon. If he had to break one of those promises, I’m glad he chose the latter.
Trump made the same choice our founders made in the Barbary wars, when the threat of Islam became recognized in this country about a decade after we declared our independence. They didn’t wait for them to come to our shores, they took the fight to theirs.

The pro war side can dismiss this all they want. Go ahead. All I can tell you is that I personally know multiple VERY conservative lifelong Republicans voters who are so furious and feel so betrayed that they’re planning to sit out the midterms. I don’t think that’s the right move and don’t encourage it. But this is something I’m hearing pretty often. People are pissed. Maybe that doesn’t show up on this site. Maybe it doesn’t show up yet in the polls. But it’s real. Go talk to people. Actual human people.
