The most wonderful time of the year! All of these are great and you should watch them immediately.

Already having a great time at @TheOverlookFest. Lots of friendly folks all around and opening night film @DropTheMovie was a fleet and clever banger. Best part: The festival’s opening sizzle displays the sponsors over a soundtrack of people screaming bloody murder. Funny!

@lugia222 If limited to certain screenings that cinephiles can avoid, is there harm in trying? I don’t fully buy that customers will NEVER materialize, as scores of people aren’t currently interested in the theatrical experience. Why not attempt to reach them too and keep theaters healthy?

A shame that @beautifulbill just suggests enshittificafion of the theatre experience in a vain attempt to chase the dollars of customers that will never materialize, and alienating the customers theatres already have.

@BeautifulBill @DamonMartin I think there’s HUGE value in appealing to the disabled. And trust me I’m not blaming you for not trying to highlight those ideas. I know they go ignored. I appreciate you even tried to inject them. But I don’t think those other ideas will attract more people. I really don’t.

The Variety article (not RTing) about making weed, texting and singing part of the movie experience to attract younger customers is so unserious. I can’t believe they let that article out into the public. It reads like it’s from The Onion, only unfunny and poorly researched.

The question is … if these were limited to designated showtimes that you could avoid but kept struggling theaters in business, is there value?

@BeautifulBill @DamonMartin I’m gonna be real with you. I wish the disability aspect of your article was the highlight. I know articles don’t get traction with noble ideas, but that idea and ideas like that, are worth spreading. The clickbait stuff, just adding fuel to the fire.

This is one of my favorite stories of the year. Curry Barker crushed it and proved once again that horror is the great equalizer of ideas over budget.
