1/Seeing this particular famous fresco from the Palace of Pylos raises the question: Does this reflect some historical event (perhaps the expansion of the Pylian territory into the Further Province) and what was the role of this depiction within the central Hall 64 of the Palace?

Also, wearing sheep skins is not always symbols of primitivism. The Sumerian man is wearing Kaunakes (woollen clothes)...Was this "late fashion craze" in Mesopotamia originally part of a tribal attire elevated to the "high fashion" by the new ruling elite? oldeuropeanculture.blogspot.com/2020/07/kaunak…

Pausanius tells us that it was Pelasgus who "invented huts that humans should not shiver, or be soaked by rain, or oppressed by heat. He also invented coats of sheep-skins, such as poor folk still wear in Euboea and Phocis." From oldeuropeanculture.blogspot.com/2019/12/pelasg…

Map of the Aegean Early Bronze Age, 3200-2300bc Most Significant of these, the Early Minoans and Early Helladic Civilizations likely gave Proto-Greek its heavy substrate vocabulary. At this point in time, the Proto-Greeks are still to the north of the Thessaly. Originally made for an upcoming mini-thread on Pre-Greek Genetics, i figured i'd just release it now.
