Bayo Onanuga is trending because, after threatening to arrest VeryDarkMan, they went ahead to arrest an innocent person, Ifechukwu Dennis over the AI Tinubu voice note.
Turns out, like GRV Stan (Taiwo), Dennis got it from a page notorious for using deep fakes to do promotions.
The creator (Martins_Vincent) went viral recently, where he used a deep fake ai of VDM to market a gift card app, claiming it was authentic.
Turns out, these Chinese giftcard companies do not provide content for influencers. Therefore, influencers are to create their own content to market the gift card apps, particularly in this case CardCosmic.
Seeing how successful and viral the deep faking has worked, the TikTok banger boy Martins_Vincent then created another one with VDM, but this time threatning National Security.
The DSS and Nigerian Government unfortunately relied on a content creator security expert who misled them into arresting the innocent Ifechukwu Dennis. The security analyst has now backtracked, but it’s too late.
Before Ifechukwu was arrested, he clarified where he got the video from — the VDM deep fake giftcard guy. Who has now deleted his page off social media, despite having over 700k followers impersonating the real Martins Otse Vincent.
Now Nigerians are dragging Onanuga for goofing twice. Firstly believing the fake video and secondly arresting an innocent reposter while relying on social media investigator, for a national threat.
While some argue that, Peter Taiwo (GRV Stan) who brought the fake video to twitter for amplification, must be arrested how Chuks Eric was arrested by Ned Nwoko for same offense.
