@TheCinesthetic I thought it was great watching it back then at the cinema, and I think it still holds up. When you compare it to similar modern epics like Gladiator 2, Troy just wipes the floor with that.

Troy (2004) spent years as an easy target and the Rotten score didn’t help, but the film holds up as a full-scale epic. Brad Pitt’s Achilles, Eric Bana’s Hector, that duel, and the score all carry it. It never really deserved that reputation.

@timsoret Hmm, since the deceased has no say in what their performance is going to be like, I don’t know why people insist on going with this just to recreate a specific actor. It definitely didn’t work for Alien Romulus. This subject always reminds me of Ari Folman’s Congress.

Interesting moral dilemma. I implore you, instead of having vivid gut reactions, to let them decant, and to listen to arguments from both sides thoroughly & earnestly.
