@KumolaloF @adeoluorisa Despite the challenges facing archaeological investigations in Nigeria, a lot of research works have and are being conducted in Nigeria. For instance, Dr. Bolaji Owoseni @Beejay_Ent has done some extensive research on pavements in Ilorin and its environs doi.org/10.15184/aqy.2…

Under normal and sane circumstances, that place is supposed to be sealed for some archaeological investigations. It would be a practical course for our university students. But, oh, it’s Ilorin….mmm. On a different note. It is interesting that our ancestors built paved roads 100s of years ago, that still stand today. But we the alleged modern people are unable to build good roads for ourselves. Are we progressing or declining?

A new study by @Beejay_Ent examines potsherds from herringbone pavements at two medieval northern Yorùbáland sites. Dr Owoseni also ran a two-day community engagement event in Ilorin, Nigeria which successfully brought together over 200 participants. arch.cam.ac.uk/news/pottery-p…
