Because the girl is white-passing and has autism (causing her to avoid eye contact and become distressed by loud noises), a suspicious bystander-a "Karen" archetype-assumes the man is a kidnapper. She calls the police and has him detained. The situation is only resolved when the girl's mother (who is white) arrives at the station to confirm the man is her husband and the child's father, leaving the accuser humiliated and facing potential legal consequences.
