A week ago, I organized “Thailand in the AI Race.” Most of you have seen the news. It went well. Strong feedback. It landed. But here’s the part you didn’t see. 😅 When @KornGoThailand asked me to do this, I said yes instantly. I’ve run 200+ events across 13 countries, so I thought, I’ve got this. I was wrong. This wasn’t a normal event. It was about bringing completely different worlds into one room. Builders, policymakers, VCs, infra, communities. And on top of that, our hosts were three prime ministerial candidates who trusted me to make this happen. I remember sitting there thinking, “…I must be out of my mind.” 😂 It was also the 1st time the Democrat Party experimented with this kind of format. Bringing in foreign talents across sectors. Keeping it close, open, slightly chaotic. I’m just glad they trusted me to run with it The hardest part was balancing two worlds - Structure & protocol vs speed & real execution This event ran on pure goodwill Khun Suwatt Pathompakawan from Skootar stepped in as moderator. Khun Tiwa York, a key figure in Thailand’s startup scene and founder of Kaidee, helped coordinate despite being overseas. Khun Kasima Tharnpipitchai from Typhoon LLM came in to support. Thanks to Khun Nuantong for connecting us to Dalad Tantiprasongchai from SCBX and Palida Artispong from Krungsri Finnovate. And to Professor Dr. Sarana Nuchanong, Jennarong Mungtaveepongsa from Stardeck, Gareth Lai from Claw Collective, Kan Klowutinan from Uniswap Thailand, and many others who contributed purely out of belief. and I wish I could name all. It reminded me of a simple truth - If you want to go fast, go alone If you want to go far, go together We announced last minute, had overlapping events, and the venue wasn’t exactly easy to get to. Still, the room filled up and we were close to capacity. Someone told me “I didn’t expect this kind of turnout”, and the other said “I didn’t expect politicians to actually sit and listen like this” People showed up because they believed this conversation matters. That this policy direction could genuinely impact the industry. This wouldn’t have happened without the support and trust from so many people.
