@BehnkenBeth this is kind of a typical answer anyone would give, but you can always reach out to a counselor at the career center! i’m sure they’d be able to help you navigate what you wanna do!

I'm very interested in pursuing a career in social science and am wondering who I could turn to for assistance? Anyone have a suggestion?! #oralhistory #ENVIR492

@BehnkenBeth Hi Beth, there are different answers for different phases of history. Before colonization, black #abalone --being the only intertidal species-- would have been the most accessible and therefore its meat used for food and its shells used for tools, adornment and ceremonies.
English

@VileisisAnn historically, how important has black abalone been to the economy of California or to the Western portion of the US? Thank you for your expertise! #ENVIR492

@naeemahzak Hi Naeemah! The primary stakeholders indicated in this project would be former abalone fishermen & Indigenous communities! But also anyone who has participated in recreational fishing of black abs. #POEcap #ENVIR492
