would probably not recommend new artists join the NFT space considering that selling a piece for the price of an entry level art fair painting will get you widely slandered by jealous artists accusing you of financial crimes because they cannot accept that someone liked your work

There's a phenomenon in running that applies to the rest of the world: It's the beginner runners who deck themselves out in all the gear. They try to look the part they've been sold. As they gain experience, they ditch most of the gear. And show up with the basic necessities.

You have the wrong image in your head. The t-shirt guys on steel bikes have had the same road bike for 20 years, bike everywhere, and will pass you breezily as your setting PR on the local hill climb. It’s an archetype. They are putting pro level miles on those bikes, for decades.
