Did you know the Castle of Laken, residence of the King of the Belgians, was once owned by Napoleon who turned it into an Imperial Palace with custom made furniture (still being used).

Prince Baudouin of Belgium at the age of 20 in 1889. He was the older brother of the later King Albert and heir presumtive to his uncle Leopold II. He died from the flu on 23 January 1891, aged just 21. His premature death made his younger brother the new heir to the throne.

Belgian Prime Minister Charles de Broqueville (third from left) with his family in Castle Steenburg, Northern France, during WWI. The castle was located very close to the frontlines, owing due to de Broqueville's wish to stay as close as possible to Belgium during the war.
