🚨🚨🚨A terrifying scene unfolded last night in Brussels when, at the end of a lecture by Professor Alain Préat, an audience member attacked the speaker with extreme violence. Professor Préat had just presented a rather encouraging picture of the evolving climate debate, notably the IPCC's abandonment of its most alarmist scenarios. Under the pretext of asking a question, one of the audience members, Philippe Tulkens, director of the Climate & Planetary Boundaries unit at the European Union, began screaming like a madman at Professor Préat—one of the leading geologists of his generation—insulting him on the topic of the climate emergency, clearly unable to control himself. Préat remained remarkably calm, but as Tulkens's rage intensified, another audience member, Professor Samuele Furfari, attempted to intervene. In vain, for Tulkens, sweating and ranting, had crossed the line of civility, calling Préat and Furfari "old" (sic) and "flat-Earthers" (sic!). Faced with the scarlet face of a Philippe Tulkens drunk with rage, who also labeled the MR as far-right (what's the connection?), the two eminent professors finally let the yapping dog choke on his incoherent pronouncements. If this sorry fellow truly represents the European Commission, as he boasted, the road back to reason in Europe remains long... 🔥🔥🔥Scène terrifiante hier soir lorsqu’au terme d’une conférence du Pr Alain Préat, à Bruxelles, un spectateur s’en est pris avec une violence extrême à l’orateur. Le Pr Alain Préat venait de dresser un tableau plutôt encourageant de l’évolution des termes du ‘débat climatique’ avec, notamment, l’abandon par le GIEC de ses scénarions les plus alarmistes.  Au prétexte de poser une ‘question’, l’un des spectateurs, Monsieur Philippe Tulkens, directeur de l’unité 'Climate & Planetary Boundaries' à l’Union européenne, s’est mis à hurler tel un possédé à l’adresse du Pr Préat — l’un des meilleurs géologues de sa génération —l’injuriant sur le thème de ‘l’urgence climatique', manifestement incapable de se maîtriser. Préat resta d’un calme olympien mais comme Tulkens redoublait de rage, un autre spectateur le Pr. Samuele Furfari tenta de s’interposer. En vain, car Tulkens suant, vitupérant, avait dépassé les limites de la civilité, taxant Préat et Furfari de ‘vieux’ (sic) et de ‘platistes( sic!). Face au faciès rouge écarlate d’un Philippe Tulkens ivre de rage, taxant au passage le MR d’extrême-droite (quel rapport ?) les deux éminents professeurs finirent par laisser le roquet s’étouffer dans ses propos incohérents. Si ce triste sire représente en effet la Commission européenne, comme il s’en est flatté, la route du retour à la raison, en Europe, reste longue . . .
