Services like Home and Community Based Services allow those with significant disabilities the chance to continue to participate fully I. Life vs live in isolation. An increase via a tax increase for earnings above $500,000 yr could help maintain these services

HCBS is not a "nice to have." The graduated income tax (GIT) would help pay for essential services, like Medicaid. The GIT would also cut taxes for those making less than $500k a year. Let's GIT it to the ballot!

Washington state is on its way to enacting a millionaires’ tax. The plan comes with significant boosts in public education and child care along with more revenue from the wealthiest households that have been paying the lowest tax rates in the state. itep.org/washington-mil…

BREAKING: A new video is released by Georgia Fort of the moment when Trump's agents showed up at her door to arrest her. Fort is an independent Twin Cities journalist. She was arrested filming and reporting on a protest at a St. Paul church. Fort had already been arrested once before by federal agents for covering the same protest. This is Trump’s America. Like Don Lemon, Georgia Fort was arrested for journalism. When the federal government starts arresting reporters simply for documenting events of public concern, it sends a chilling message to every journalist in this country. The First Amendment does not belong to Donald Trump or his administration. It exists to protect the press, to hold power accountable, and to ensure the public knows what is being done in its name. Arresting journalists for reporting is authoritarian behavior and we must call it out every time it happens.

"A really striking finding is how much OppFi profits from repeated refinancing." "One person in our sample refinanced over a dozen times." The cost of these loans is astronomical. Watch the video and read the full report: responsiblelending.org/research-publi…

Arizona's tax incentives made the state a major data center hub. After seeing limited job growth and ballooning costs, lawmakers are rightfully questioning why the state needs these tax cuts. If Arizona backs out, will other states follow? axios.com/local/phoenix/…

It's been an on-again, off-again effort for backers of a ballot initiative to create a graduated income-tax system in Colorado. But with a vote Wednesday, @BellPolicy President Chris deGruy Kennedy believes the measure is on its way to the 2026 ballot: tsscolorado.com/for-third-time…

A new study finds that 96% of Trump's tariffs are paid for by Americans. But this isn't a surprise considering corporate executives are publicly telling investors they are protecting profits by passing the costs of tariffs on to consumers. time.com/7353475/trump-…

We need to advance policies that support working class Coloradans, like a graduated income tax proposal. It would give tax cuts to 97 percent of Coloradans – everyone making less than $500,000 – and would help get Colorado back on track. bellpolicy.org/a-graduated-in…

But that wasn’t the only indicator signaling trouble for working class Coloradans. Savings for those earning less than $151,000 a year are declining. And job growth for small businesses – those with fewer than 50 employees — has tanked. 2/3

Today’s state budget revenue forecast made abundantly clear that growing income inequality in Colorado continues unabated. Those with lower household incomes experienced slower income growth while higher income households were more insulated from economic shocks. 1/3 #copolitics
