When the federal government starts arresting reporters simply for documenting events of public concern, it sends a chilling message to every journalist in this country. The First Amendment does not belong to Donald Trump or his administration. It exists to protect the press, to hold power accountable, and to ensure the public knows what is being done in its name. Arresting journalists for reporting is authoritarian behavior and we must call it out every time it happens.
