@alecdebeikis@RealPrimeMoment@KnicksStan42069@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB Couldn’t have said it better myself. Not mad in the slightest its just an unrealistic trade. I have the same reaction when someone calls Michael Kay show and suggests yankees trade volpe and a prospect for Bobby Witt. I guess I still underestimate how stupid people can be.
No you’re right, it’s exactly what it is. Realistic or not, it’s for impressions. The guy wasn’t even upset, he was just pointing out how dumb the trade idea is. But again that’s the way twitter works too , if you reply to someone (or in this case, more than once) you’re either considered upset or care too much.
But he’s also right then by saying not to take Sleeper accounts seriously. It’s purely for impressions for that $$.
.@MLBNerds created a mock trade that would send Freddy Peralta to the Cubs 👀
Cubs receive:
SP Freddy Peralta
RP Brooks Raley
Mets receive:
RHP Jaxon Wiggins (Cubs #1 prospect)
OF Ethan Conrad (Cubs #3 prospect)
INF Jonathan Long (Cubs #6 prospect)
Would you do this 🤔⁉️
@BelligeRich@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB Castillo is actually a good comp, and look at what they got for him.
I don’t disagree with trading a 30 year old injury prone OF like buxton, but like the other guy in here said he’s got a NTC and the owner doesn’t want to rebuild.
@dan26022530@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB Max scherzer, luis castillo (very similar stats to Peralta at time), Greinke.
Also the twins arent close to being a competitive team so having those guys arent serving any value. trade your guys approaching 30 for high prospects and build your core around the same age.
@BelligeRich@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB I’m not saying they will now either, I’m just saying they won’t be so far out of it they’ll feel the need to trade their 2 best players under contract beyond this season.
Again when was the last significant starter traded at the deadline? Verlander 10 years ago?
@dan26022530@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB I’ll be politely following up with you come trade deadline on the twins. I’ll expect you to say “oh I just said they could win the division” yea and Emerson Hancock “could” win the CY Young. Its not going to happen.
@dan26022530@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB Every team in baseball is a few games out of the wildcard, So what? I can guarantee you right now they will be sellers are the deadline. They have absolutely nothing on there roster thats helping them compete other than Joe Ryan and Buxton in which they should trade both.
@BelligeRich@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB They are 2.5 games out of first, have you seen that mediocre division lately?
And yeah I said Ray but they don’t have to deal Webb given his contract status, injury, and the fact that he wasn’t pitching all that well this year to begin with.
@dan26022530@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB Dude the twins are one of the worst teams in baseball what are you talking about??!?! The Giants have literally said theyre looking to shed salary and start fresh and that webb is open.
@BelligeRich@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB Extremely likely? The AL central is wide open. Alcantara is a mess. Webb has three years on his deal. Maybe the only likely one would be Robbie Ray and he’s def a true rental given his age.
A team trading for peralta could be inclined to a multi year extension.
@barstoolsports@stoolpresidente Eagles fans dominated pats fans in the SB. So I guess Boston isn’t a sports town either?
Maybe Sixers fans have team fatigue over ownership, maybe picking and choosing your arguments on fandom is dumb?
“I am so sick of these Philly fans acting like they’re a real sports town. If you can’t protect your home building, you’re not a real sports town” -@stoolpresidente
@dan26022530@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB I was exaggerating but you’d have to be completely retarded for thinking there getting anything close to that offer. Also gleybar was #1 prospect in cubs system but mid 20’s in baseball at the time. Chapman was also lights out, Freddy cant even scrape out a 6 inning start.
@BelligeRich@SleeperMets@MLBNerds@SleeperCubs@SleeperMLB You’re kinda retarded if you think a top line pitcher, even on an expiring contract, only gets one top ten organizational prospect back in a trade.
I still remember when the Yankees got the best prospect in baseball back for an expiring contract of a relief pitcher.
@Vbologna1908@Cryler__@lefthandMarc Have you considered the Brewers are an overall great organization and it wasn’t stearns doing? They haven’t skipped a beat since he’s left and are loaded with talent.
@Cryler__@lefthandMarc That is what i meant it’s Mets that are cursed of course we get the owner that spends and we still can’t consistently make playoffs it’s maddening
