CLUB STATEMENT
Brett Donnelly has resigned as AFC Welwyn first team manager. The club has decided to progress with plans to secure our own ground which meant that the difficult decision to revise all budgets within the club has been made in order to make the new ground our priority. With these changes impacting Brett's playing budgets he offered his resignation which we have accepted. Our priority is to remain competitive whilst ensuring we are making positive steps towards having our own home. In this instance we have had to make decisions with our head rather than our heart. This is the right decision for the clubs long term goals and financial sustainability. We will keep you posted on first team manager appointment as soon as we are able.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Brett for everything he has done for the club, he has delivered everything we asked of him right until the end and we wish him all the very best for his future.
