Here’s a colourisation and restoration of an image requested by @TheTardisMan2 of the TARDIS on Tigus, filmed on Monday 15th November 1965 at Ealing Studios Stage 3B. This was the FIFTH attempt at this model shot - and earlier issues of scale were finally solved by Shawcraft building a new 18-inch model TARDIS that would end up being used *everywhere* for the next decade. The model footage - sans TARDIS - was also used on a screen in studio to extend the Tigus set during taping of #DoctorWho and the Volcano on Friday 10th December in TC3.

Here’s something slightly different I’ve been meaning to try for ages - a remaster of the original 1962 pinhole-camera gun barrel photo from the #JamesBond opening titles. I’ve never seen a full-frame of the actual photo (does it even still exist?) and the Connery version is the only one with all the lovely detail intact. Even by Roger’s debut (pic 2) it looks like a dreadful blown-out photocopy-of-a-photocopy. So this is my attempt, made by stacking 4K grabs from Dr No, with extensive cleaning and tarting-up and recolouring of the bits we only see when the barrel jerks around once the blood has drenched the image. If you’re on a mobile please ‘Load in 4K’ for the full effect. Maybe someone might find this useful? If nothing else it’s quite a pretty thing to gaze at for a while!

I've been asked by the family to pass on the sad news that one of the Doctor Who's longest lived contributors - Laurie Webb, aka Mr Ollis in The Three Doctors - passed away peacefully on Sunday: 5 weeks short of his 102nd birthday. What a life, what a man. Delightful company too.
