If you ever wonder just how childish some people in the space are, I went to a VC event in NYC last April and met a group of really nice people, they approached me to say hello and we chatted for a while. As I left the event I walked out the front door and the group of men I had literally just met were stood around like children, mocking me in a high pitched voice ‘look what a dumb fucking feminist I am’. They didn’t see me and if this was you I hope you read this and feel embarrassed. I share this to highlight - people will literally say anything to your face and the opposite behind your back and vice versa. Don’t pay attention to that and just keep working for the people that DO take you seriously. Everyone else is just a distraction.

@OxCreative Ohh yeah, for concept artists AI would be amazing…like having a junior artist working for you for free…and they’re the most talented artist you’ve ever seen 😂

@BenColefax It was fun to try and I can see how it would be useful in some situations but don’t think I’m ready to give up the pencil or stylus just yet 😂 I do wonder how it will affect concept artists though, for conceptual work it’s quick and can yield impressive results 👀

What's your honest opinion on AI art? For me it's sorta like riding an electric scooter for fitness. It's fun, but you miss out on the therapeutic satisfaction of holding a pen and doing it yourself - even if it is garbage✍️✨

@KingOdin34 😅fr! hmmm...I've seen some AI stuff that is almost indistinguishable, at least in some art styles and I'm sure it will only get better and better.

@BenColefax OMG AI TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!! But in all seriousness, I wouldn't say it would remove personality. AI can't replicate your art style and people would definitely notice it.

@SilkDeFi Yeah the inspo aspect alone is pretty great. I guess only the artist will know how much of the work is from them (memories, references, preferences) and how much is AI generated. And then maybe no one cares either way and I'm just a weirdo. 🤣

@BenColefax Agreed but I think struggling can still mean getting help from AI, but not necessarily letting it do all the work but get references and looks using AI and gather it all together to create using your own work with your own flare.
