I just realized that Brayan Bello is this generation’s Clay Buchholz. He has the ability (and has shown as much) to be really good. But when he’s bad, he’s the worst pitcher in the league. I am living my 2015 nightmare all over again just with a different right-hander.

Today is a special day for Red Sox fans. It marks the six-year anniversary of the last time owner John Henry took any public questions from the media. 2,192 days. No press conferences. No public questions from the media. Nothing. Owner of the team. Crazy.

@kurt13warner Your reading comprehension needs some work, Kurt. He said there was no cheating in deflategate. Then, referencing spygate, says everyone was using tech to gain signals. If you want to take this approach with BB then you should be a favor of keeping everyone of that era out.

Again please don’t take this as just being about BB, it’s not, it’s just a big picture perspective I have… but that is such a bad argument to me for someone who chose to go outside the rules and try to gain an advantage!!! So if someone cheats on you & you punish them in some way… once that punishment is over, is all forgotten & forgiven? Does it absolve them of their actions? I just don’t get this argument… but maybe I’m just different!!

If you were given the green light to move ANY of the prospects in the system and still didn’t get a significant deal done, you didn’t do your job. “I was given all the tools and materials needed to build the addition on your house, it just didn’t get done.” Give me a break.

Not doing whatever it took to get Joe Ryan is so incredibly disappointing. It felt like that thing was on the 5-yard line and it didn’t get done. You can’t get that close and not close the deal. Can’t happen.

The fact that John, Tom, Sam and Craig aren’t at a podium at Fenway Park at 10am to answer questions is embarrassing. What a bunch of cowards.

Cora deserves a ton of blame for how putrid the Red Sox are fundamentally (and have been for YEARS now), but we need to start having serious conversations about how the fundamentals are taught in the Red Sox system. I hear a ton about analytics in the minors. Exit velocity, barrel rate, etc., but is anyone teaching these kids how to PLAY the game of baseball? Serious question, is Marcelo Mayer the only guy that's come up in recent years who looks like a fundamentally sound, intelligent baseball player? Not like he's lit the world on fire, but I haven't seen him make a dumb mistake yet. The rest of these guys play with their heads up their ass. They make mistakes constantly in the field, on the bases, and they're all awful across the board situationally at the plate. It's widespread and it's only getting worse. I don't think the game is being taught at all in the Red Sox system. It's a massive problem.

For those who didn’t want Whitlock for a second inning, how would you have done the final three innings? Weissert threw 31 pitches yesterday. Slaten/Chapman both haven’t gone more than 3 outs all year. Easy to be annoyed in hindsight, but that was obviously Whitlock’s inning.
