Just checking….Are we absolutely certain that the British patriots are the people who hate British cities, British law, British judges , British democracy, the British civil service, the British Broadcasting Corporation, and large swathes of the British people?
@Itsallagame_@BBCNews You wanted to talk about the UK as a whole, ignorant to the fact the 2 countries of the UK have different funding models. You should thank me for educating you.
@BenGHealey@BBCNews You came in all defiant with a straight "No" to my general post. Then I gave you multisourced evidence to support it, so you swerved to some nonsense about a handful of universities as if it disproved the vast majority 😂
Wherever you live in Britain, fly your national flag with pride. Be proud to be a patriot. The French and Americans (and millions of people many other countries) understand this basic patriotic premise. So should we.

Reminds me of certain areas in Northern Ireland. When people feel insecure about their identity, they need to do this. It’s a sign of weakness not strength.
@BenGHealey@BBCNews 🤣
Yeah, because trying to deny the point in my original post by using a 16% minority argument, really works 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Then, trying to carve out a 'composition of the UK' argument to bolster up the mere 16% of universities 😆 I'm embarrassed for you!
@Itsallagame_@BBCNews I was commenting from what I know as fact from working in a UK university, 16% is not a tiny percentage, or 50% of the countries that make up the UK!
@BenGHealey@BBCNews Funding model changed for 115 recognised universities in England & Wales. Northern Ireland has 3 (Scotland 15). You're trying to counter my original post using a tiny % because you had no choice to flip it to a UK discussion after I provided proof of my original post. Pathetic 😂
But 12% of Catholics consider themselves to be British and 24% Northern Irish first and foremost, and if it ever came to a border poll there would be another 25% who wouldn't run the risk of leaving the UK. And.... as Protestants would 92% vote to remain within UK, we could safely predict a 65%+ majority to remain within the UK. The SoS NI will therefore not hold a border poll.
An increase in the flying of flags from lampposts in England that has seen stretches of road resemble those in parts of Northern Ireland is being defied by two local councils.
Both Tower Hamlets Council in London and Birmingham City Council have removed union flags and flags bearing the cross of St George in recent days, following a campaign to increase the number of British emblems that has been linked to the hard right in the UK.
