The oldest member who was recently returned to the Uganda Parliament is ailing retired Brigadier Moses Ali (L), 87, who’s been in govt variously since the military rule of Idi Amin in the 1970s. The youngest is Lenia Charity Kevin .@Leniacharity, at just 24 (R).
In a continent ruled by very old men, Lenia at 24 is very young by African parliamentary standards, yet she is not the youngest ever. Several politicians who entered the national (not provincial) parliament younger than her.
Some notable examples:
•Proscovia Alengot Oromait — Uganda. Elected MP in 2012 at just 19, becoming Africa’s youngest MP at the time.
•Francisca Oteng-Mensah — Ghana. Elected to Parliament at 23, then became a deputy minister.
•John Paul Mwirigi — Kenya. Elected MP for Igembe South at 23 in 2017, then Kenya’s youngest elected MP.
•Emma Theofelus — Namibia. Entered Parliament and became deputy minister at 23; later rose to cabinet minister.
•Yusuf Cassim — South Africa. Became the youngest MP in South African national history at 24 in 2014.

Sharp Girl who conned a Bank using Raila’s Name
In May 2022, Faith Mwikali walked into GT Bank in Nairobi, and asked to speak to the bank manager, Mr. Jude. It was purely business as the bank manager had always set the record straight that he could never mix business with pleasure. Faith wanted the bank manager to give her pragmatic ideas on how she could invest Ksh. 70 million which she allegedly had idling in her account. The CEO did the right thing by giving her all the necessary financial advice to the best of his ability, after which Miss Mwikali left, satisfied and joyful.
Few weeks later, Faith walked into the same bank and asked to see the CEO. Like any other wealthy prospective client (real or imaginary) request was granted without hesitation. This time round, Faith told the manager that her mother was seriously sick and the bills had pilled up to Ksh. 8 million and she needed a quick loan. The manager out of abundance of caution, asked her the whereabouts of the 70 million, which she didn’t hesitate to clarify that she had used it to buy a home in Kileleshwa, reason why she was temporarily illiquid. The manager then quickly processed a loan of Ksh. 8 million and gave her.
Two months later, Faith called Mr. Jude and this time, it was time to go for the jugular. She was acting on behalf of the Azimio Presidential candiate, Mr. Raila Amolo Odinga Wuod Nyalego Chuny Piny Oke Gi Ng’ong’a Kodima. In the call, Faith stated that Mr. Odinga had won a tender at KEMSA to supply mosquito nets worth Ksh. 17 million and the nets were already at Mombasa Port but just like her, Baba, a total orphan was temporarily out of disposable cash. Faith even went to the bank and gave the River Road manager the documents showing that Baba had won the contract and it was their way out of the block. Like most descendants of Jezebel, she then introduced the aspect of time, stating that the release of the nets was time sensitive and if the manager delayed, Baba would lose the entire contract.
The manager then went ahead, approved the loan of Ksh. 17 million and immediately Faith saw “UA64F3QSYH Confirmed”, she switched her phone off and Fyuuuuuuuu. As to whether the Mango Babe used the natural Thailand magic to deny Mr. Jude sufficient supply of oxygenated blood to his upper head is still a mystery. But this was another classic case of the bait and switch method.

Dear future shop owners. Who bewitched you. Hii design ya frame 2; tu ndio mnataka? Lets have a conversation as a country. They look pathetic na hiyo design ndio iko copy pasted across East Africa. Infact Somalia ndio niliona some different creativity. Transitioning to a first world country requires collective efforts from the private and public sector.

ARREST OF A SUSPECT, RECOVERY OF NARCOTICS
Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), alongside their counterparts from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU), have arrested a trafficker recovering sachets of cannabis sativa from his house.
The suspect, 29-year-old Nigerian national Christian Ikechukwu Uzochukwu, was cornered following intelligence-led investigations that painted him as a key player in a narcotics trafficking network operating within the city.
Acting on this intelligence, detectives descended on his residence in Kabarnet area along Ngong Road.
A thorough search of the house led to the recovery of 33 sachets of cannabis sativa neatly packed and ready for distribution. Detectives also recovered two passports bearing the suspect’s name, alongside other items.
Preliminary investigations have further revealed that the suspect is in the country illegally.
The suspect was escorted to Muthaiga Police Station for processing pending arraignment. Meanwhile, the recovered drugs have been detained as exhibits.
