Been a really busy end to the year. re:Invent and planning for 2025 means a lot of late nights at work. I’ve also been training hard on the Juijitsu mats, finding time for 4-5 sessions a week for most of the year. Got a new belt last night. Now looking forward to some R&R.

Gotta enjoy the little wins when you make them. Awhile ago I invested time to automate SDK documentation through code docs (with docusaurus), which is now paying off 🚀 1. Make changes to SDK 2. Update docs in SDK 3. Auto released on the website Love docusaurus and it's custom plugins ❤️, if you want a documentation tool this one is a killer for sure!

@boyney123 Loving and using Zod a lot at the moment. Takes a bit of getting used to its mental model, but crazy powerful and useful!!

I love the idea of local developer tools. I've been hacked together an idea that allows people to visually edit there schemas, messages, services and domains. Event design is very much a collaborative effort, I want to enable this with EventCatalog.... Using Hono, with Zod and the EventCatalog SDK I have something that is looking very promising 👀🚀

@g_bonfiglio Same as you with DRAC, then iDRAC, and all the other vendor equivalents, and GSX, ESX, ESXi, you just had to figure it out in your first build for prod. Crazy days!

@g_bonfiglio I used to help my school when I was a student with server admin. When I left they were refreshing their servers and let me take a very old server and a BNC NIC home. Novell used to let you order a lab license for NetWare and shipped you about 36 3.5” floppies.

In the endless cloud vs anything else debate, people often forget how cloud platforms have dropped the cost of entry and how they have democratised the market. A student can use and thus learn the same technology their future employers use. This is a critical capability.

@g_bonfiglio That became my first lab to continue my learning. If I had to buy that kit it would have been cost prohibitive and I was very fortunate. It speaks to the same point you’re making - high barrier to entry for most. Now it’s a free tier API call away.
