It’s Friday again, Post your work 🚀🚀 Looking back at some sketches as I begin a new project.

It seems possible that by 2027 or 2028, the position of UI/UX designers could disappear.

1. Keep your energy level at “unbothered.” No matter the situation you find yourself in, be calm. It helps you think of solutions faster. 2. Except they are disrespecting you, when someone raises their voice, lower yours. The lower voice is the one with class. Empty vessels make the loudest noise. 3. If someone tries to guilt-trip you, take a deep breath and say, “You’ll be alright.” 4. Always act like you have been there before. A big win, small win, someone takes you out, you find a new update—act like you have been there before. 5. Take your time before responding to anyone. Think clearly and speak on it once. 6. Say what you mean and mean what you say. 7. When you enter a room, don’t scan for who’s watching you. Look straight ahead and pick your own seat. 8. In any settings, always mind your business. If they don’t involve you in a conversation, don’t involve yourself. Eavesdropping is allowed, but don’t join them. 9. Don’t talk too much. Nothing reduces your steeze more than too much talk. The more you talk, the more likely you are to say nonsense. 10. When someone pulls away, match their distance, not their drama. 11. Never involve yourself in a physical fight. It is not worth it. 12. Resist the urge to shalaye. Overexplaining yourself, especially to strangers, reduces your steeze. 13. When you are in public, show no visible reaction when you receive news (good or bad). Control your face until you leave that premises. 14. Don’t try so hard to be noticed in any settings. Matter of fact, the most reserved person in a room is the most noticed and admired one. 15. If you notice someone is arguing to be right instead of to learn, stop indulging them immediately. Let them believe they are right. You have nothing to prove to them.

I need more examples of people in academia who haven't had a linear path at all and missed years on the way to PhD and still did their PhD. I don't wanna feel all isolated here 🫩

Sir Alex Ferguson built Manchester United from the ground up, then dominated the Premier League with sustained excellence across 21 years, with 13 titles, building Manchester United into the biggest club in the world alongside Real Madrid. He rebuilt his teams over & over, he defeated everyone who challenged him. The money wasn't endless, he didn't have a blank chequebook, he didn't walk into a club built for him & he also didn't have the biggest cheating scandal in PL history hanging over his club. Importantly, the Premier League literally doesn't exist as it does today without him. The money & popularity of it, it all traces back to him. It's why he's the GOAT.

As a designer, which one do you prefer for designing UI?

The Garnacho hate movement has gone too far. This morning I’m seeing “Is he the most hated footballer in England?”. The. Most. Hated. Footballer. For having a bad attitude and being immature? For not being an instant, ready-made hit at Chelsea? It may be football but this is also someone’s real life. A 21 year old’s. Why is football like some parallel universe where it’s morally acceptable to relentlessly humiliate and bully a person? On Saturday he had both sets of fans booing him. His instagram comments section is full of abuse from both. Chelsea fans should be ashamed of themselves for joining in rather than taking him under their wing and supporting him. He’s developing and your toxic environment won’t help that process. Imagine being a human that thinks it’s worse to not be playing football well, or to be immature, than to bully and abuse.
