@elonmusk What is it with you and Warren Buffet and this Diet Coke obsession. I know Buffet is a shareholder, are you?

@kelvmackenzie The money and the support will go to the Torys. No question. This is so basic a manoeuvre you can see it a mile off. The Tory's are not in a position to push back, they will come to heel if Musk pumps the money in.

@elonmusk This is basically a retreat to realign support (and related funding) to the Conservatives and a major rebrand of Conservatism (to mimic what happened with the Republicans in the USA). Someone has explained the first past the post system to him. Farage is the fall guy.

The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.

@dam_dna37898 @jonny26248061 @ben_kew This is the problem with bias in politics. These folks put the blinkers on to anything that doesn't suit their views or agendas. He has been wrong on right-related topics so much yet I'm sure he is still happy to stand that ground and try to hope his positions into existence.

@jonny26248061 @ben_kew @BenWhitterEX Not literally everything - he was forensic in his examination of Rachel Reeves for example and called exactly what she was planning to do post election. He definitely seems to underestimate positions that he doesn't understand (Brexit, Trump, etc)

'The Rest is Politics' co-host Rory Stewart, who infamously said he bet huge amount of money on Trump's losing the election, calls Elon Musk a "genuine fascist." He goes on to say that X is a "small platform" with "few users." Just incredible political analysis!

@jonny26248061 @dam_dna37898 @ben_kew Yes, that's what I find incredible too. He is not just wrong, but very badly wrong and way off every time he looks into his political crystal ball. Remarkable really - this needs to be studied further.

@dam_dna37898 @ben_kew @BenWhitterEX I'll definitely do some background reading regarding Rory. It isn't Rorys politics that irk me. People are allowed to have different political views to mine. What intrigues me is Rorys take and analysis on literally everything has proven to be wrong.😬

@PeterOrton66 @ben_kew Perhaps he is well versed on Middle East policy, but the UK electorate have been ignored for decades and that's where they wanted their politicians to focus (on the UK) so this indicates poor instincts politically and that's why he didn't get chance to advance his agenda.

@BenWhitterEX @ben_kew Firstly, you can loose an argument but still be right. Rory was a very good politician & if you read his book, you’ll understand a lot of what we got wrong in the middle east and how under qualified Cameron was for PM. Boris ejected anyone who couldn’t accept a Brexit at ANY cost

@jonny26248061 @ben_kew Agree, we circle back to my initial point. There is a significant lack of political talent in the UK and there has been for decades. This would explain how Stewart and his ilk have been able to dominate the political discourse despite their inadequate political instincts.

@ben_kew @BenWhitterEX Yes, I have, in fact, heard that he's a good writer. "Politics on the Edge." was recommended. As a teenager, my father warned me away from listening to "clever idiots." Rory may well be intellectually capable. However, his analytical & political skills are non-existent.

@jonny26248061 @ben_kew I try to see the best in most people; he has achieved things/held office (we are talking about him and his views) and from what I gather about his travels, he had some authentic and challenging experiences that came into his writing work and made an impact beyond himself.

@ben_kew I don't deny his impressive qualities, but he has terrible political instincts, I agree. Though I would have expected his world travels to lead to a more balanced & realistic approach to his politics in the UK.

@BenWhitterEX He is actually a very impressive man in many ways. He has travelled extensively, particularly across the Middle East. He just has terrible political instincts.
