🚨Texas Alliance For Life (TAL) is trying to significantly weaken the anti-abortion planks of the platform of the Republican Party of Texas.
For years, Texas Republicans have proudly defended a party platform that affirms our commitment to protecting the lives of preborn children with the same laws that protect adults. But proposed platform amendments seek to remove these planks.
I am calling on delegates to the @TexasGOP convention to uphold our longstanding commitment to protecting preborn children and reject TAL’s attempt to gut our party’s platform on the issue of life.

Just a few months ago, a lobbyist from @CWforA helped other Pro-Life establishment groups oppose a bill that would have abolished abortion in South Dakota. @CWforA claims to believe that human life starts at conception and that abortionists should be penalized. But if a woman wants to be her own abortionist and take the human life in her womb through abortion pills, @CWforA believes she should always have complete immunity under the law to willfully commit such a murder.

This is a slanderous misrepresentation of pro-life political strategy—you’re due for some repentance.
We have the same goal and the same convictions. Human life begins from the moment of conception and abortion must end. Full stop.
“The Pro-life Establishment” is working to pass state and federal legislation that will criminalize abortionists and abortion drugs distributors, and we’re fighting like hell against the abortion drug.
Slander is easy. It gets you clicks. But you’re walking in sin and for some reason spending time and energy publicly tearing down and lazily misrepresenting fellow Christians and pro-lifers.
If you have serious questions or concerns about one political strategy over another, good. Questions are welcome. But this public slander is getting old, and the enemy is using it to sow discord and division among those who share concern for unborn children.

In the full video, the woman is seen complaining about her “baby daddy,” whooping and shouting “thank you Jesus” as she takes the abortion pills, and dancing to degenerate music as she celebrates the willful murder of her own baby. Other women are meanwhile heard behind the camera yelling “kill it” and giving her instructions on how to take the abortion pills, indicating they also have experience with obtaining the substances and murdering their babies. In an interview after the gender reveal, the woman admits to drinking alcohol throughout her pregnancy and further celebrates her abortion. ⚖️ Tennessee is a conservative state where many pro-life leaders and lawmakers insist that abortion has been outlawed. But this woman cannot be held accountable under the current pro-life laws of Tennessee, which grant complete immunity to women who willfully have abortions. Just a few months ago, Tennessee lawmakers had the chance to support a bill enacting equal protection of the laws for preborn babies and criminalizing abortion for everyone involved, but none of the Republicans on the committee had the courage to motion for the bill to be heard. While pro-life leaders claim that granting women complete immunity for abortion as “second victims” is rooted in empathy and compassion, refusing to equally protect preborn babies only leaves them vulnerable to murder, and encourages the sickening abortion culture seen in this video.

❗️ Pro-Life writer, speaker, and apologist @ScottKlusendorf published an article in The Gospel Coalition on Mother’s Day entitled “Why Equal Protection Bills Harm Pro-Life Efforts.”
The concerns raised by @ScottKlusendorf are introduced with language of political prudence, but they function as counsels of retreat. Rather than fearing God and legislating against abortion as He commands, Klusendorf advocates for Christians to effectively neuter our efforts against abortion by refusing to press equal protection amid fear of the culture.

🚨🚨🚨 @TXAlliance4Life is trying to significantly weaken the anti-abortion planks of the platform of the Republican Party of Texas.
For years, Texas Republicans have proudly defended a party platform that affirms our commitment to equally protecting the lives of preborn children.
But proposed platform amendments by @TXAlliance4Life threaten this.
@TXAlliance4Life is trying to strike Plank 23, which calls for equal protection for preborn children, and Plank 195 (on abolishing abortion), replacing these planks with watered down language that would keep abortion legal in Texas.
@TXAlliance4Life has a long history of opposing abortion restrictions, so it’s not surprising they would try to gut the RPT platform’s strong anti-abortion planks. Last session, they fought tooth and nail to kill my bill to abolish abortion in Texas, which was consistent with the very planks @TXAlliance4Life is now trying to strike.
I am calling on delegates to the RPT to uphold our longstanding commitment to protecting preborn children and reject @TXAlliance4Life’s attempt to gut our party’s platform on the issue of life.

BACKGROUND ON TAL:
Under the leadership of Joe Pojman, TAL has made it a habit of opposing or refusing to support anti-abortion bills — even bills that fell well short of full equal protection — not because the bills protected too few babies, but because TAL's position was that they protected too many.
For example, in 2017, TAL refused to support SB 415, which was a ban on dismemberment abortions.[1] Also, in 2017, TAL opposed an amendment to the 20-week abortion ban law that would have protected babies targeted for abortion due to fetal abnormalities.[2] In 2019, Pojman and TAL did not support the Fetal Heartbeat Act, instead recommending that the legislature focus on “bills that have a reasonable chance of sustaining a federal court challenge.”[3]
Most recently, when HB 2197, which would provide equal protection to every preborn child in Texas, was scheduled to be heard in committee, TAL mounted a campaign against the bill, which caused the hearing on HB 2197 to be cancelled. After HB 2197 was already dead, Joe Pojman proceeded to spend countless hours calling co-authors of HB 2197 off of the House floor to pressure them to jump off the bill. In the 89th session, it appears that TAL spent more time advocating against a bill that would provide equal protection to preborn babies in Texas than he did advocating in favor of any pro-life bill of their own.

🔥 With many states concluding their 2026 legislative sessions, we are thankful to God for record levels of support on bills abolishing abortion and providing equal protection of the laws for preborn babies.
⚖️ There were a total of 12 new equal protection bills presented before lawmakers across the country during 2026 legislative sessions with our assistance, in addition to 4 other active bills carried over from 2025 legislative sessions.
There was an equal number of active bills at this time last year, even though some state legislatures which normally have equal protection bills only meet biennially and did not convene this year.
🗳️ There were at least 130 state lawmakers this year who sponsored or co-sponsored the 16 equal protection bills. This exceeds the 122 lawmakers who supported the 16 equal protection bills filed last year even as fewer state legislatures convened.
These equal protection bills would abolish abortion by protecting preborn image-bearers of God with the exact same homicide, assault, and wrongful death laws already protecting born people.
Several states witnessed record levels of support for equal protection among lawmakers…
— Oklahoma had a total of 26 lawmakers supporting their equal protection bill, greatly exceeding the 7 lawmakers who supported the equal protection bill last year.
— Idaho had a total of 29 lawmakers supporting their equal protection bill, setting a new national record and surpassing the 18 lawmakers who supported the effort last year.
— South Carolina had the first equal protection bill ever proposed in their Senate.
There were many other signs of record legislative support for equal protection…
— Illinois, South Dakota, and Tennessee saw their first equal protection bills, with those in South Dakota and Tennessee having 9 and 5 respective sponsors and co-sponsors.
— There were three committee hearings scheduled for equal protection bills in South Carolina, Tennessee, and South Dakota, with our team members physically present to testify on behalf of the bills at each hearing.
