@mr_deepvalue 3x FCF? OCF is like 30m? It's cheap but not quite as cheap as you're implying? EV at 150 would put it around 5x OCF

This one is now up to read. One of the most compelling deep-value set ups I've seen this year. Link in bio.

@CasinoCapital Feels like fiscal measures and money supply are just so much more dominant these days that the rate levers aren''t what they used to be though

I'm glad the Bank of England is turning hawkish. Literally everything has been going up 5-7% a year for half a decade. Volcker-it.

@John_Stepek The only thing that should be getting cut is Andrew Bailey's job. How long can the @bankofengland get away with missing their 2% target?

@tristanwaine Does feel a bit like another excuse. Albeit I've not cross referenced it with other company releases

Went to top-up a little Rockwood on the dip. Now waiting for authorisation after taking a quiz about Crypto ETFs and levered inverse products..

Is a TIKR subscription still worth it? Sadly, QuickFS is closing down and I'm looking for a good alternative. Thanks!

@mr_deepvalue I feel ya. Happened to me with Anexo, albeit I came out of it fairly well in the end. Orchard Finance is another that sunk drastically due to take-under risk; but it's going in the right direction now.

It really comes down to looking for healthy businesses that are being priced like they won't ever make money again, even though they are. It's probably the easiest bet to make, because a business 'not dying' is far easier to predict than 'growth' imo. Biggest red flag for me is probably any kind of concentrated ownership structure that allows the majority owner and/or management to delist at a rock-bottom price. This risk gets bigger and bigger the cheaper the stock becomes too. It's just an obvious temptation for any red-blooded capitalist. That's main money-losing scenario in the type of stocks I go for...

I enjoy going back through all the stocks I bought when I first started deep-value investing. Some of them are so dumb. It’s amazing the progress you make by just doing it and tweaking as you learn different lessons. Your results over time will improve. You will inevitably end up beating market averages (if you’re trying to improve and remain consistent). Even in my worst periods I still made excellent money thanks to the good ones I picked. The results just get better over time as you eliminate all the obviously stupid ideas…

@FirmReturns I think a basket of UK pubs might do well in general. Quite a few are appealing.

@Ben_ValueInvest Definitely similarities. I include Young's as a case study later in the report alongside several other comparable public and private companies.

@ReturnsJourney Has comfortably beat the market for over two decades, so I wouldn't bet against him. I'm following closely but I'm currently allergic to the US markets.

Have recently been considering a basket of UK pub stocks but have honed in on one I like. This news is welcomed. Any strong views on the sector or individual names?

I've been fooled by many interesting charts over the years, but this one is intriguing; suggesting there's plenty left to go in the US bull market. A blow-off top still to come?
