ADVICE ON FIBROIDS, INTIMACY, AND MARITAL TRIALS Bismillah It is quite late that I am just seeing this and I sincerely hope it is not too late for the brother to benefit from the answer. Scholars often say that: "السُّؤَالُ أَحْيَانًا يُفْهَمُ مِنَ الْقَرَائِنِ وَالْحَالِ" which means that: a question is sometimes understood not just by the words spoken but by the context and the emotional state of the person asking. I can truly sense the distress in your words and the heavy burden of seeing your wife in pain while you struggle to remain chaste. It is from this place of brotherhood and understanding that I offer this advice while remembering the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that: "وَاللَّهُ فِي عَوْنِ الْعَبْدِ مَا كَانَ الْعَبْدُ فِي عَوْنِ أَخِيهِ" (Allah is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother). My brother, the Shariah is built on mercy and wisdom and it does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. Regarding your situation, there is a clear separation between what is physically impossible due to illness and what remains Islamically permissible. This is grounded in the famous Usul Fiqh maxim: "المَشَقَّةُ تَجْلِبُ التَّيْسِيرَ" (Hardship brings ease). Since the hardship here is the inability to engage in penetration due to your wife's medical condition, the ease provided by the Shariah is that you are permitted to attain sexual release through Istimta' (الاستمتاع) which is enjoyment of the body without penetration. The strongest evidence for this is the authentic Hadith in Sahih Muslim where the Prophet (peace be upon him) said regarding intimacy during menstruation: "اصْنَعُوا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ النِّكَاحَ" ("Do everything except sexual intercourse [penetration]"). Relying on this narration, leading scholars like Imam An-Nawawi in Sharh Sahih Muslim and Ibn Qudamah in Al-Mughni have affirmed that the prohibition is specific only to the site of harm. They explain that the rest of the body remains permissible for Mubashara (intimacy) to protect the husband from Fitnah. Therefore do not let shyness prevent you from this lawful relief as it is Halal for you to reach climax through manual stimulation or contact with other parts of her body. While she awaits her surgery, do not underestimate the power of Prophetic medicine. Ibn al-Qayyim in Zaad al-Ma'ad emphasizes that the complete cure combines the Divine Remedy (like Ruqyah and Sadaqah) with the Natural Remedy (like Honey and Black Seed). Here, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "دَاوُوا مَرْضَاكُمْ بِالصَّدَقَةِ" (Treat your sick by giving charity) because charity wards off calamity. Combining this with the consistent use of honey and Black Seed—which Ibn al-Qayyim described as cleansers for the body and strengtheners for the immunity—creates a holistic approach where the soul is treated alongside the body. I wouldn’t know if you are considering having a second wife? This is not to sound insensitive, but if you do, and if the method of Istimta' does not suffice to quell your urges and you genuinely fear falling into Zina or severe distress, then this becomes a necessary solution because as we know: "الضَّرَرُ يُزَالُ" (Harm must be removed). So, if your chastity is being harmed then marriage is the cure legislated by Allah. It is not a betrayal nor a punishment for your wife but a preservation of your Deen. However you must navigate this with immense wisdom so that you do not break her heart while trying to save your soul. May Allah grant your wife Shifa (complete healing) and grant you the patience to navigate this trial.

The Ka'bah and the Hajar al-Aswad (Black Stone) hold profound significance in Islam as sacred symbols and focal points of worship, yet they do not define the essence of the faith, nor does Islam's survival depend on their physical existence. Long before the Ka'bah was rebuilt by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his son Isma'il, or before the Black Stone was placed in its corner, countless prophets and their followers, from Adam to Nuh, Musa to 'Isa (peace be upon them all), lived as true Muslims, submitting wholly to Allah alone. Islam, at its core, is the eternal message of Tawhīd (the oneness of Allah), and it will endure until the Day of Judgment regardless of any physical structure or relic. Muslims do not worship the Ka'bah or the Hajar al-Aswad, such an act would contradict the very foundation of Islam. The Ka'bah serves primarily as the Qiblah, the unified direction toward which Muslims worldwide turn in prayer, symbolizing the ummah's spiritual unity and obedience to Allah's command (as in Qur'an 2:144). The Black Stone, believed to have descended from Paradise, is a point of reverence: pilgrims kiss or touch it during Hajj and Umrah following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said, "The Black Stone is from Paradise" (Tirmidhi), but it has no power to benefit or harm. These are mere symbols reminding us of our covenant with Allah, directing our hearts toward Him alone. If the Ka'bah or the Black Stone were to cease to exist, through natural disaster or otherwise, Islam would remain intact, as worship belongs to Allah alone, not to stones or buildings. Muslims pray facing the Qiblah wherever they are, uniting billions in one direction as a sign of devotion, not idolatry. This understanding safeguards the purity of Tawhīd, ensuring that our love, reverence, and submission are reserved for the Creator, not the creation. Islam's strength lies in its timeless truth, not in any earthly landmark.
