Yesterday I attended a Baptist memorial service. At the end, as is customary, came the call to be saved. The pastor’s eyes moved across the room as he warned that anyone who did not accept Jesus on his stated terms would face condemnation in eternal hell. I noticed him look my way, consistently, with beads of sweat running down his red face. This brought back memories of my youth. While it did not upset me like it did when I was young, it reminded me of the spiritual abuse I endured at the hands of these heretics growing up. He then demanded everyone head bowed and every eye closed. I did not comply. I remained seated quietly, prayer rope in hand, turning inward with the Jesus Prayer as the moment passed. Later, at the meal afterward, the old familiar atmosphere returned. The quiet glances, sideways looks, and the subtle weight of disapproval. When I set my purse on the table, I realized my Orthodox prayer book and icons were visible, apparently the entire time. Nothing abnormal for me, as I always travel with my cloud of witnesses. But, this was the first time they entered a Baptist church with me. The first time I have entered a Baptist church since becoming Orthodox over a decade ago. In that space, I was reminded how differently salvation is understood between the two. And reminded why I will never go back to their erroneous ways. ☦️

@ClownWorld Amazon delivery workers don’t typically get the heavy packages. Those go to UPS, FedEx, and even USPS. This guy is either overworked or lazy. Also, he has AC in that van.

@ClownWorld UPS delivers all of Amazon orders that are heavy . So this guy isn’t even dealing with the fun stuff.

The modern world continues to be in a tug of war between beauty and ugliness, and unless we recover the spiritual foundation that our ancestors had, we will never restore the society we wish to build.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
