@Rainmaker1973 If the smell is released when rain hits parched ground, how can we detect IMPENDING rain?
English

Evolution has rendered the human nose roughly 200,000 times more sensitive to the aroma of rain than a shark's is to blood in water.
Though sharks are legendary for detecting trace amounts of blood across vast ocean distances, humans possess an even more extraordinary olfactory feat on land: an acute sensitivity to petrichor, the earthy scent released when rain hits parched ground.
This distinctive fragrance arises primarily from geosmin, a compound produced by soil bacteria, which the human nose can perceive at concentrations in the parts-per-trillion range.
On a per-unit basis, this makes our detection threshold for the smell of impending rain about 200,000 times lower than a shark's for blood—an astonishing evolutionary refinement.
This heightened ability likely originated as a critical survival adaptation for our ancestors. In eras without reliable water sources, sensing an approaching storm from afar enabled early humans to find fresh water, locate fertile areas, and make timely decisions about movement and shelter in challenging landscapes.
What we now experience as a soothing, nostalgic scent was once an essential environmental cue guiding migration and habitation. Today, this enduring sensory prowess stands as a remarkable reminder of our evolutionary legacy, affirming that the human nose ranks among nature's most exquisitely tuned detectors.

@yiddogusdos @Kish_P14 I’ll add pumped fists with some hip thrusts

Really hope we allow 1/2 of the CBs to step into midfield on the ball
Allow Gallagher to get really high to support the front line, and contribute with final actions
Bissouma as the deepest midfield receiver, enables us to progress better, although I think with Frank it’ll be just progressing up the sides
If Frank fails to get a win today I think that’ll be him done

@levynomics1882 Is Andy Robertson not ready to play if we signed him? Is he injured? I don’t get that point. I honestly Souza would come in and compete with Udogie but it seems clearly they don’t think he is ready, so they have Udogie and Robertson and let Souza settle in. Not bad to me
English

This is all due to the situation we’ve put ourselves in. And this is to spend a squad place and significant wages on someone who is regressing.
If we sign a LCB/LB hybrid (or someone that can do one of the individual roles) in the summer like we all cried out for, this isn’t needed.
If Souza isn’t ready, just sign an actual LB who is ready and who can compete with Udogie now. Why bother with ANOTHER signing who isn’t ready?
Replacing Davies shouldn’t even be a discussion because Davies should have been replaced years ago.
It’s plasters over leg amputations all the time because there’s no future strategic planning. And then you’ve got a scattergun approach that creates a hotchpotch squad that struggles to even meet the requirements.

@georgeachillea Yeah we look like we give a fuck to be playing today

Ive watched Rogers, McGinn, Tielemens etc point to their team mates where to move in behind our players who stand their like traffic cones and let it happen
Tielemens was in between 4 (!) of our players, received the pass with 0 pressure whatsoever, played the ball to his left and then BOOM the drive in open space and break our “press” with easy
Honestly just so pathetic

@SZYComps Is it the club or is it us as a fan base with deluded expectations based on the last few years?
