Hearing reports that Keswick Town Council has voted this evening to write a letter to the Blencathra Foxhounds, telling them they can no longer hold their annual Boxing Day parade in the town. What a shame! Here's a photo of the event which won't be happening again. 🦊

@Chardbirder What a stunner Roger, what’s species is it? I’ve only ever had a corn snake when I was a kid I remember having to give it away when we moved house because the landlord wouldn’t let’s us bring it!! I was gutted. 🐍

Highlight of a recent trip to Scotland in June was probably seeing one of our rarest breeding birds in suitable habitat. It’s estimated 1-2 pairs of Purple Sandpipers breed each year in Scotland. Hope they were successful in 2021. Record passed onto local recorder @ukrbbp

A quick trip out to see some local Helleborines before I miss out this year, Violet, Broad-leaved and Narrow-lipped. Phone pics I forgot my camera! @ukorchids @Britainsorchids

To any orchidophiles planning to head north and west to see Spiranthes romanzoffiana. The ones on Colonsay have buds but no flowers so they should be good for a month or so yet @thenewgalaxy @Mike_Waller_ @ukorchids @LeifBersweden
