The results are in: @ZohranKMamdani is the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City. Zohran overcame 10-to-1 dark money spending from Trump-supporting billionaires by running a campaign truly centered around working people. His victory should serve as a blueprint for Democrats across the country.

@hannahkrieg I kept running into issues with academic employee unions at UW and UCSD. UAW's strategy seems to be to form the largest bargaining group possible, which leads to outliers (e.g., undergrad TAs) being ignored

Today, I sent a letter, cosigned by 102 of my colleagues, to urge the U.S. to investigate the fatal shooting of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. Given the evidence, we believe the United States must independently investigate whether this was a homicide. To walk away without asking further questions gives Israeli forces unacceptable license to act with impunity. There must be accountability for Ms. Eygi’s death. We extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Eygi's family during this moment of tragedy and call for a thorough inquiry into the shooting of one of Washington's own.

Noisy Creek bought us, promised more resources, but refused an interim agreement to raise unit wages. Now they want to hire a new reporter for more than they pay current staff. If the company can't afford to pay workers a wage we can thrive on, we can't afford new reporters.

This is one of the most undemocratic moments I’ve seen in Seattle. 25K voters across the city signed a petition to send I-137 to the ballot this November. Today was the deadline. Instead, Council cut public comment short and voted 7-1 to remove I-137 on our agenda.
