This week, @RepVinceFong + @RepScottPerry's bipartisan bill to save the world's largest trees passed UNANIMOUSLY.
The bill accelerates forest restoration, forest management, and fire prevention.

While we're discussing wildlife overpasses, let's discuss why they're important:
They prevent ~97% of wildlife collisions
They singlehandedly save wildlife populations (and migration patterns)
They can save our country $10B per year
BUT...they (should) cost $5-15M, not $100M

San Diego has these under tons of freeways/roads for wildlife to use. they have trailcams and report animals using them

Colorado built this wildlife overpass last year for $15 million. It’ll pay for itself within five years from the avoided collisions.
California spending $114 million on a failed wildlife overpass is absurd.

In Phoenix, Arizona, temperatures could reach an unbelievable 107°F (+42°C) on Friday. If that verifies, it would break the record for the earliest occurrence of 107°F since records began in 1895, pulverising the previous record by a whopping 44 days. This is totally bonkers.

We need FAR more wildlife bridges. They’re proven to work in saving wildlife, car wrecks, and ultimately taxpayer dollars.
This is absolutely absurd, and it’s why people don’t trust big government programs to solve things.

The Democrats really seem to only care about blocking projects. Republicans seem to only care about approving projects. There needs to be a balance

Public land sell-offs. A wall through Big Bend. Drilling in the Alaska refuge. Mining in the last remaining pristine areas.
These are the threats conservation faces.
