But for the players, fans and staff at Paulton who have bought into this promotion push, the timing sucks. Both of those things can be true at the same time.

NEW MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT Melksham Town Football Club are pleased to confirm the return of Kieran Baggs as First Team Manager following the departure of Stuart Fleetwood. Kieran returns to the club with a strong connection to the Town faithful, having previously guided Melksham to promotion from the Western League back in 2018. With just nine games remaining, Kieran’s immediate focus will be to rally the squad and fight to secure the club’s place in the Southern Football League. His knowledge of the club, the players, and the community makes him the ideal person to lead the team through this crucial period. Everyone at Melksham Town FC would like to welcome Kieran back to the club and wish him every success for the remainder of the season. Parish fucks every single manager eventually. Rather than kick on this season with the greatest manager in our history, he’s chosen to do it on the cheap. Glasner hasn’t covered himself in glory, but the board is the one constant every single underwhelming transfer window. #cpfc

@GilesyL14 Yep. Agree with every word. Last summer was our one chance to try to kick on. [*Try*.] Nothing guaranteed – and high risk, of course. Risk aversion is understandable. But if we were ever going to push for top four/CL, just for one season, that was our shot. SP did what SP does.

I've no anger towards Glasner. Throughout his tenure, the club have never matched his ambition. Every window has never been good enough. I don't blame him for wanting out. & IMO, we'll live to regret it. Our greatest ever manager & gave us a day we could have only dreamt of #cpfc

@shave_stuart We're not equipped for this amount of games because of how the board approached the summer. Some of us predicted these exhaustion levels in August and Sept. Parish either did not – or felt we could wing it. Either way, he got it wrong.

Why do we always have to blame an individual after a defeat. There is nothing wrong with Glasner, nothing wrong with Parish. Tierdness is to blame. We’re not equipped for this amount of games. Being equipped can’t just happen in one window. #cpfc

@FYPFanzine Do SP and pals have the humility and self-awareness to grasp that our squad being exhausted after 60 minutes of every match is squarely down to their glacial summer transfer window? And are they sufficiently brave to pivot away from the familiar to salvage the season in January?
