Sonic ate the monster cell after cooking it and he just threw up a bunch and nothing happened to him. Saitama was shown in the manga to grow in strength due to emotion, not from eating more monsters

Saitama isn't injected by that fluid, however he consume it indirectly with meat fused with it, giving him insane power.

I’m not trying to “get away” without explanation.

What explanatory power does that have beyond just saying "the Big Bang"? Why does saying the word "God" mean you just get away without further explanation?

Everything in the universe/whatever else must have a cause for being there, but if you go back far enough, there must be something that did not need a cause to exist.
