I respect stances in silence, but I’ve always been more vocal than not so I feel it’s only right to share my thought given a shared workspace & audience crossover. First, I have nothing but love and support for Rich. We have known each other nearly a decade and I have nothing but respect for him as a creator and friend. Undergoing the loss and grief of a long term relationship, pushing through recovery and healing, only to find out someone respected & well-trusted went behind your back—that’s an almost insurmountable pain. I wish him nothing but the best and will do my utmost to be in his corner. He has been nothing but an incredible friend to me, and I to him. Taylor and I have been friends for a few years. I hope whatever decisions she played a part in were clear-headed and conscionable. Her name has been spotlighted in all of this, but I would implore those unaffected by what’s come out over the last few days to remember people can make mistakes and to polish your own windows before throwing stones. Lastly, there’s GameboyLuke. Luke was one of the first creators I felt I became friends with in this space back in 2015/2016. Unlike some of the stories people are sharing, I have never had an unfavorable interaction with him. He was a friend, a mentor, and a respected colleague. I can be hopeful that not everything I’ve read over the last few days from a variety of sources is true, but the singled out interaction of deceit and manipulation within our friend group cannot be overlooked. I can only hope he realizes the impact his actions have had on many people, the trusts that have eroded, and do better moving forward.
