He will present new results on how degraders work in cells. He will also highlight academic and industry efforts to treat hard-to-drug targets in childhood cancers and brain diseases. His research shows that larger libraries can raise hit rates and improve binding strength. He will also explain how machine learning helps identify true drug candidates and how well current methods improve these compounds. This talk will offer clear insight into the future of structure-based drug design. A recent review highlights the growing importance of heterocyclic Schiff bases as versatile scaffolds in modern drug design. Defined by their carbon–nitrogen (C=N) bond, these compounds offer structural flexibility and enhanced bioactivity through amideiminol tautomerism. A recent study has isolated and characterized a novel arylalkanone, 1-(2’,6’-dihydroxyphenyl)-4-hydroxy-9-(3”,4”-dihydroxyphenyl)-nonan-1-one, along with five known arylalkanones (malbaricone A–D and 1-(2’,6’-dihydroxyphenyl) tetradecan-1-one) and a newly reported dimeric acylphenol, giganteone A, from the seed mace of Myristica ceylanica. These findings expand the chemical diversity of this medicinal plant and offer potential leads for bioactive compound development. The study highlights the power of phytochemical exploration combined with advanced spectroscopic techniques to uncover new natural products.
