Calling all singers! Our 2nd annual sing-along is on Jan. 18 at St. Stephen's in Pittsfield, MA. Singers of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Sing opera choral classics from Mozart, Verdi, and Wagner, alongside members of the larger Berkshire singing community.

It seems as if #WorldOperaDay is also World Facial Hair Day: October 25 marks the birthdays of Johann Strauss (b. 1825) and Georges Bizet (b. 1838), composers of possibly the world’s most popular operetta and opera.

Happy Birthday, Verdi! Born on this day in 1813 in Le Roncole, he went on to be Italy's leading opera composer, and wrote 28 in total. They include some of the best-loved works in the repertoire, such as Rigoletto, Aida, Il Trovatore, and BOF's 2025 mainstage — La Traviata.
