Attempted to filter to reach ASL didn’t make it, should of carried on to reach and if felt unsafe to gain centre of the road stopped at ASL on the left and waited for lights to change red to reposition

What to do? See a cyclist filtering on your left and you want to turn left. Clue: don't overtake the cyclist cutting across their path as they signal right.

Try explaining why the cyclist didn’t comply HC 67, 72, 73,74,76. Putting all blame on the driver makes you look narcissistic and in favour of cyclists vs car mentality

Being a trained cycling instructor it would be beneficial to point out where the cyclist could have made different decisions for his own safety. So everyone could learn from it

Others, who know the rules and apply them, can see that the cyclist followed the relevant rules. Now identify the five the driver breaks.

@DaveReidReading @Bernardzno @SaferRoadsYorks There isn’t a confusion about filtering amongst cyclist, and certainly not that ASLs can only be legally entered on the left. Most ASLs are designed on an assumption that cyclists will filter on the left, and most cyclists do. We teach cyclists to choose the lowest risk option.

It’s a 3 direction junction left of lane highly indicates going left, central straight on, right well clearly right

The driver is responsible for seeing everything in their environment, especially filtering cyclists. Please stop justifying the drivers reckless behaviour.

Check that you can proceed safely, particularly when approaching junctions on the left alongside stationary or slow-moving traffic. Watch out for drivers intending to turn across your path. Remember the driver ahead may not be able to see you,

@SaferRoadsYorks I would still say school boy error from the cyclist the mini is moving before the bike clears it and knowing so much about the junction, should of taken primary over trying to get to the front for their own safety patience’s patience’s

Note that the cyclist clears the mini before it overtakes and left hooks the cyclist. Filtering on the right at this junction isn't a good option as cars often cut the corner as they turn right from the adjoining road.

@2wheelsgoodBrum @DaveReidReading @SaferRoadsYorks They probably realised that there was a cyclist area at the front of the very small queue of traffic and was heading for that to get to the front and failed miserably

@2wheelsgoodBrum @DaveReidReading @SaferRoadsYorks The cyclist got caught out trying to get that one more car ahead mentality, then the lights changed. When in fact if they had positioned themselves in the primary position behind the mini we wouldn’t be having this conversation now. A little bit of patience needed I think
