SOHO/LASCO observations of a spectacular coronal mass ejection (CME), associated with a solar energetic proton (SEP) event . Simulations carried out at NASA's Community Coordinated Modeling Center indicate that the CME may impact Earth at about 2023-07-19T18:28Z (+- 7 hours).
One of the most spectacular coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in a long time, followed by two sun-grazing comets coming in from the lower left as an extra bonus. The white circle in the middle indicates the size and location of the Sun. Images recorded by SOHO/LASCO.
