Edward Cullen’s entrance in Twilight (2008)
That pale, otherworldly look wasn’t CGI either. The filmmakers used heavy makeup and specific lighting setups to give him that unreal, almost glowing presence in the cafeteria.

Marty McFly’s introduction in Back to the Future (1985) is such a perfect character intro since in about thirty seconds you completely understand who he is. The scene does all the work without ever stopping to announce it.

The ending of Into the Wild (2007) absolutely destroys people emotionally. That final realization hits like a punch straight to the chest and suddenly the entire journey takes on a completely different meaning afterward.

What's a movie that genuinely made you sit in silence after the credits rolled - not sad, not happy, just stunned?

The ending of Atonement (2007) is emotionally brutal. Spending the whole film holding onto the hope that Robbie and Cecilia might somehow reunite, only to realize their happy ending only existed inside Briony’s writing, is devastating.

The cruel part of WALL·E (2008)’s ending is that Eve still remembers every little thing about him while he suddenly reacts to her like a stranger. That awkward silence between them lasts maybe seconds, yet it feels unbearably long.

“I could have saved more.”
The end of Schindler’s List is one of the most emotionally overwhelming scenes. After spending the whole film watching Schindler slowly regain his humanity, his guilt over the lives he couldn’t save becomes unbearable to watch.
