Highly unlikely, Beth. And they had swallowed the losses, for quite some time, and it was time to call it a day. Times are changing. Society's attitude is changing. Moderate conservatism is back and growing stronger. The Left went too far. Society, or a large part of it, said, "enough". We will never see those days again. Be thankful you lived in them. But change is here.

I have over 30yrs of high level corporate experience, and can tell you, with open AND experienced eyes, that yes, Trump was an added factor, there's not denying that, but the primary factor was the show was costing the network $40 million per year. He was also drawing a salary of $20 mil per year. He had alienated half the country from watching. The network needed an excuse to cancel him. Trump was handy. $40 mil in losses was bigger. He's gone. Trump still sits in the Oval Office. Life is tough sometimes.
