Máel Coluim II, king of Alba, died at Glamis, Angus, #OTD in 1034. He and Owain the Bald, king of Strat Clut (Strathclyde), defeated a Northumbrian army at the Battle of Carham in 1018. This gave Máel Coluim control of land down to the Tweed.
