Incredibly proud to have won Young Journalist of the Year at the @ScotPressAwards. It may have slightly reignited the fire and reminded me of some of the reasons I loved to write. Thanks for all the kind words & messages, and congratulations to all the other winners and nominees.

I’m doing this as a certified holistic life coach & mind-body practitioner - which just mean I have the training to support clients as they learn more about themselves, their minds & their bodies, and what sustainable changes can get them to the balanced lifestyle they crave

🍁Personal job news 🍁 After a great year with @ScotlandTonight and @STVNews I’m off to be a political reporter for @ITVBorderRB starting on Thursday! I’ll mainly be based at the Scottish Parliament - so can’t wait to get back 👩‍💼

Twitter may be dying but I am (mostly) thriving, here’s the life update I’ve been putting off writing. Quitting my job last year remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

🟣 Bit of personal news: after 3 hard, hectic years of study, today I graduated from RGU Law School with my LLB. To all my family, friends and colleagues who suffered me babbling about law, put up with me having *no* time for anything and generally being distracted, thank you.

@juliabryce92 Plant Bae on Easter Road opened last year but has really raised its game recently. You won’t be disappointed.

Off to Edinburgh for the weekend tomorrow and I’m excited for ALL the food. Any suggestions on where to pick up the odd best sandwich or sweet treat? I have 171 restaurants on my list (and growing) so I think I’m covered there… 😅

Stephen was in the editor’s seat on my first day at the EEN & made sure I knew he had my back, even before he really knew me. My husband has been unwell for some time and has now sadly stepped back from his role as Deputy Head of News but the @TheScotsman and @edinburghpaper family continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with him - I cannot thank them enough for all their love and support 🙏🏻 @swilks123

Huge thanks to @palebackwriter, @catmacphee & everyone else involved in the @WIJ_Scotland five year anniversary summit. It was a really special thing to be surrounded by so much female talent and I’m pretty sure we all left feeling excited & inspired, if also slightly starstruck.

Was a lovely surprise to hear today that I’ve been shortlisted for Young Journalist of the year at this year’s @ScotPressAwards. It’s a really positive reminder to be proud of the work I’ve done despite recent changes i’ve made. Huge congratulations to everyone nominated.

Personal/professional news 🧵- After a year and a half working @TheScotsman I have resigned. It’s where I learned to be a journalist and I’m grateful to everyone who helped me but I wasn’t happy and wanted things the job wasn’t giving me, so I’m taking a break from the industry.
