@MrsCgeography@MsGHist I was thinking the same. Maybe even explaining standard scores and the bell curve distribution so that it can be put in context and there’s a visual to hang it on too.
Need some advice.
My 10yo had an autism diagnosis. He is incredibly academic but cannot cope with any kind of failure or mistake.
On a practice SATs paper he dropped 3 marks and is devastated.
How can I support him?

Local friend telling me about a house hereabouts which has no bath, only a shower, because there used to be a fixed bath in the kitchen that was covered with a wooden board when not in use & used as a worktop!
@JameswSwann@Suchmo83@Kieran_M_Ed@Mr_AlmondED Dyslexic students have strengths too so use these as well as supporting the weaknesses. Metacognition and finding out what works for them helps develop independence and compensating strategies. Show them how to work smarter not harder but that will be different for each one.Enjoy

Anyone know approximate transcription speeds expected for ks1 and ks2? Not sure it even exists but could do with it for a piece of work I’m doing. Not including an element of composition, just actually how quickly we might expect a child to write @Suchmo83@Mr_AlmondED
@letclothesbe Not expressly written but know that there are frequent purges on girls ankles being visible - obviously still in the Victorian age - wonder if there are skirts on the piano legs??
Can anyone help with my research?
Looking for examples of school uniform policies that have very specific, seemingly petty rules on skirt length and trouser fit...
Maintained/state funded schools only x
@SmallSchool_KS2 Not sure about SATs (I teach in secondary in Wales) but a student could access a computer reader - software or reading pen - for GCSE English including the reading, so wonder if that could be the same. Not a panacea + takes some practice but could become a normal way of working.
What do you do with a child who is a very poor reader (diagnosed specific learning difficulty) but when read to, his comprehension skills are superb? He’s currently y5, really don’t want him to “fail” SATs next year (I know there’s no such thing as failing, but he feels that way)
@mini_lebowski I’d also look at access arrangements are some of the students entitled to extra time/use of WP/use of computer reader/rest breaks and work with the students to understand how to use those effectively. Not every student will be entitled but can make a big difference for some
