...At Belmont and Clark tonight, for a while, people were not allowed to go north, south, east, or west by police order. That resulted in a big clusterf*ck as several hundred people walked in circles trying to find a way out. Prediction: The person who came up with this plan holds the rank of deputy chief or higher.

...CPD is also very quickly disrupting every twerk-off we passed tonight, whether they be in the traffic lanes of a street, on a sidewalk, or in a parking lot.

So CPD's post-Pride Parade strategy this year is to keep people OFF the 900 block of West Belmont entirely — the block that has, in recent years, turned into an hours-long street party. So, now, hundreds of people are walking and twerking on all of the side streets instead.

It's important to remember when most people are calling Chicago a "violent hellhole" they are specifically calling "Black Chicago" a violent hellhole and are asking for greater suppression of Black people in Chicago as a whole, particularly those who dare go to non-Black areas.

Every day I find a new human rights violation at my job and every day I escalate it and every day someone shrugs and says there’s nothing they can do and fighting unethical behavior shouldn’t be this hard and exhausting. I truly don’t know what to do anymore.
