I am devastated by today’s horrific shootings in Tumbler Ridge, B.C. My prayers and deepest condolences are with the families and friends who have lost loved ones to these horrific acts of violence.   I join Canadians in grieving with those whose lives have been changed irreversibly today, and in gratitude for the courage and selflessness of the first responders who risked their lives to protect their fellow citizens. Our ability to come together in crisis is the best of our country — our empathy, our unity, and our compassion for each other.   I have connected with Premier Eby to express my condolences, and with the Minister of Public Safety, Gary Anandasangaree, who is coordinating the federal response.    Our officials are in close contact with their counterparts to ensure the community is fully supported as best we can. The Government of Canada stands with all British Columbians as they confront this horrible tragedy.

Am I overreacting? I bought a sweater for my future niece, and my roommates said it was ugly! I ordered from the local crafter, I wanted support her, cause I love this community, and I think its pretty nice, but my roommates said it was ugly My sister in law is pregnant and I found this sweater for the baby girl at a Mexican farmers market today. (Baby is half mexican half islander) I brought it home and excitedly showed it to my roommates and they called it ugly. I told them they were mean and have been keeping to myself for the night. Happy new year from our house to yours. Our girls are nearly all grown up & on the cusp of starting lives on their own. Chester finished the year relatively healthy but we know nothing is guaranteed with our beautiful little boy and everyday we have is a blessing we are thankful.

26th anniversary today It’s been quite a few years since we have been able to go to dinner & celebrate due to life’s circumstances which at times can be disheartening I’m sure. I try to make up in other ways by becoming a better husband & father daily with God lighting the way.

@CraigBaird Craig, wondering if you can help. My husband has an impressive collection of military books (700+), 70% of which deal with Canadian military in ww1 and ww2. He has been trying to find a home for them but the Military museums and Legions he’s tried have no interest. Any ideas?
