@WivFunnyFarm @carastobart Shocking. Level of bullying & abuse in all directions is wide spread. Seems to be a reluctance by @NALC to acknowledge the extent or tackle it. @flatpackdemoc can advise on how to manage this. We think simplified standing orders that can't be "weaponised" would be a start.

@caitlinmoran There's not a lot of positive in many small town parish councils, not all of course, but quite a lot have toxic setups. Just the nature of it, unfortunately!

@caitlinmoran I spent 15 years attending these kinds of meetings all over the NE and I couldn’t watch past the first 5 minutes. All too common in local level ‘democracy’ 😱

@theParliamentP @caitlinmoran I live in Handforth and am definitely put off from getting involved by what I have seen and read in our local fb groups. The overwhelming feeling is that of frustration at how obstructive these men at the top are. One (Burkhill) being the Mayor of Cheshire East!
