This one reform and reshuffle by @PMOIndia will help India tremendously from its soft power to economy. It will even benefit the ruling govt, I assure. Tendulkar played in an era without DRS, falling victim to numerous wrong dismissals in his career. Grounds had longer boundaries. Pitches were very fast outside the subcontinent, as there was little emphasis on balanced pitches that helped both teams. Except for the latter part of his career, he had limited support from other batters, which placed the weight of expectations and pressure solely on him. Half the time, he had match fixers playing in his team without him knowing. He also faced a more menacing set of fast bowlers compared to today’s lineup. Imagine just WI, not a single threatening fast bowler in their team now whereas Tendulkar played Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop, etc. Hence it’s unfair to compare him with modern batsmen purely based on stats, unless you account for the conditions in which he played. No wonder most Indians still consider him to be the greatest batter India has produced.
