(1/8) As Budget Day 2026 approaches, some reflection on policies & initiatives on "Education" are in order : 1) New Education Policy (NEP-2020) has set a target of Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of 100% in School Education by 2030 & of 50% in Higher Education by 2035. #NEP #Budget

More people need to know that ancient Roman engineering was so precise, their aqueducts still produce clear water to this very day - 2,000 years later.

An old man is selling watermelons by the side of the road. His sign reads: 1 for $3 3 for $10 A young man stops and buys one watermelon. “That’ll be $3,” says the old man. The young man then buys a second watermelon. And then a third. After paying another $3 each time, the young man picks up his watermelons and starts to walk away. Then he turns back, grinning proudly. “Hey old man,” he says, “you realize I just bought three watermelons for $9 instead of $10? Maybe business isn’t your thing.” The old man smiles and shakes his head. “Funny… every time somebody comes by, they buy three watermelons instead of one… and then try to teach me business.”

😆 🤣 😂 😹 Now IIT madras and IIT Kanpur will fix the problem. The experiment is done, and the correction process is on the way. This government has made country as a laboratory. Digitalization is something that is absolutely needed, but make ensure its implementation with utmost care with huge level of performance testing, regression testing before putting at place.

We want everything to go online, but we aren’t mindful enough to secure these systems& these are systems that impact lakhs of Indians. Here Nisarga, an ethical hacker says he managed to hack CBSE’s OSM portal in Feb, shared the vulnerabilities with CERT-IN, what he got was a complaint number but no action. In his blog he explains the issues. Hope @MeitY_NICSI takes note because @EduMinOfIndia is a lost cause.

I had hacked CBSE's OSM (On-Screen Marking Portal) in February and had reported the vulnerabilities to CERT-In, but they were unable to patch most of them. I've written a detailed blog post about it here: ni5arga.com/blog/posts/hac…

It’s a special moment for both our families, Uday. I will never forget the moment when I met a freshly minted MBA who had decided to become an entrepreneur in financial services, and walked into my office to offer our company bill discounting facilities. From that small beginning in financial intermediation to becoming one of the most respected bankers in the world is nothing short of a magnificent and inspiring journey. There’s so much more ahead of you…. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

This framing—taking a “hit”—is most odd. Isn’t it the Centre’s job to take care of citizens’ concerns, whether it means spending money or not? It’s the same issue with terming infrastructure a “gift” to the nation.

Delhi Gymkhana: Be Careful What You Wish For I have never been to Delhi Gymkhana and have my own issues with the way elite clubs in India are run. But we must be careful what we wish for. Many are revelling in the fact that Delhi Gymkhana is on the verge of being taken over. Their logic is clear: It is on public land at subsidized rates that is not open to public. The logic is sound but if you adopt that principle you will realise that there are many whose properties can be taken over. Many will realise that even their homes are on land that is given on subsidized rents. In Mumbai - that is as much a norm as it is an exception. Homes are built on collector land/port trust land/leasehold land where residents are paying much lesser than they should be. In many cases - the purpose of giving the land and its actual usage are very different. To any observer the violation will be apparent. So yes - its fine to revel in an elite bastion being put on notice. But don't get carried away with the principle. Your own asset may be next.

Absolutely!! The Gymkhana club should pay market rent. And it is also time that ministers and high officials occupying huge bungalows in the neighbourhood also pay market rents. Why should taxpayers pay for them?
Avinash Shishoo@laidback1954

Leave the 'national security threat' to the experts . Why should a private club be subsidised ? Will the club exist if it is charged rent at market rates ? Let the club buy land at market rates anywhere and continue to function .

The idea that listed OMCs should suffer the losses if they make a profit is absurd. OMCs are accountable to their shareholders, as they are publicly traded companies. A sizable portion of the dividends paid by these enterprises go to the government since the government is the largest stakeholder. So please spare companies. Underrecovery is based on the global price parity formula, if it hasn't been updated recently. @aajtak

Dhandha culture has taken over the nation. A large percentage of new startups seem to be some variation of trading, brokerage, delivery, arbitrage or reselling rather than creating fundamentally new technologies or inventions. Have we optimized an entire generation for commerce instead of curiosity? Is the education system partly to blame for producing job seekers and traders rather than inventors, scientists and creators?
