I’m sat in my first Essex County Council meeting on Monday morning, listening to a councillor induction presentation. ‘Any questions?’ asks an officer. A hand goes up. ‘Yes’ says a recently elected Labour member. ‘Do I get a pension as a councillor?’. His first question was about how much money he gets. Not procedure, or meeting dates or where the loos are… but how much cash he can grab. Same old Labour.

How excited I was as a child on #FACupFinal day.A chance to see a game on TV, papers with special supplements. My area of South London went crazy when Chelsea beat Leeds in 1970. My Dad renting a colour TV so we could see Arsenal v Liverpool in 1971. Today,not sure I’ll watch it.

@IuliiaMendel If I were Zelenskey I would go. There is nothing wrong about this. Go talk to Putin, see where Ukraine and Russia can de-escalate and where they can't. Obviously EU bots will say it's not a good idea because Ukraine needs to keep fighting for Europe.
